Ultrafiltration does not differ much from reverse osmosis (RO) in terms of the filtration process. The difference is in the size of the membrane pores. In UF, it is 0.01 microns and in reverse osmosis (RO) 0.0001 microns. This allows reverse osmosis to filter out 95-99% of impurities, but this is not always necessary. Ultrafiltration does 70-80%, but leaves the minerals in the water. Ultrafiltration is cheaper to purchase, easier to install and simpler and cheaper to maintain than reverse osmosis systems. The membrane lasts on average 5x longer than an osmosis membrane. The Atlantis has 3 filters for 4 filtrations. These filters are very easy to replace. The Atlantis filters (among others): chlorine, fluoride, bacteria, viruses, parasites, microplastics, GenX, PFAS, pesticides and heavy metals. No electricity needed DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE: HERMES VERSUS ATLANTIS The difference between the Hermes and the Atlantis is mainly the size and the filtration capacity of the Atlantis is higher. The Atlantis is ± 25% smaller than the Hermes, which can be an important argument for those who want to use this system in a camper, caravan or boat. Both systems work with low water pressure, no extra pump needed. INSTALLATION & ASSEMBLY This ultrafiltration water filtration system requires installation in your kitchen, caravan, camper or boat.  Included in the delivery of the system are all the parts you need, such as tap, water hammer and fittings. It is much easier to install than a reverse osmosis system, but some knowledge and skill is required.
